Gaza 12-30-08

I don’t have tons to say today. I’m still very sad and even more numb as I see the videos, photos and read the articles. Some are from people in Gaza, West Bank or Israel. Yes, I am putting things here from Israel. I feel that’s only balanced. They are suffering too and their lives and anguish shouldn’t be discounted because of their leaders being blood thirsty Zionists bent on wiping out Palestinians and Arabs. I also thought you who only read the pro-Palestine media might want to see things from their point of view. We are ALL humans wanting peace, love and a future for us and our families.

I’m not going to go on like I have in the past few days. The stories speak for themselves. Please visit the sites. I’ve made the headlines clickable so do that or copy/paste the link into your browser. If you click the headline I can see if you all actually do read the articles and if my time is well spent doing this part of the blog.

I had a conversation with a dear sister in the UK on Windows Live earlier today. We’re both frustrated. Somethings she said I’d like to share with you. I don’t think she’d mind. Who ’she’ is is not the story here, it’s what she said that is showing the sadness and lack of power we’re all feeling right now in this world and not just with Gaza.

“im just sad that every year there is stupid unnecessary killing …over 400 have died between congo and uganda in the past few days too

no one says anything about that.. or zimbabwe …all focus is on gaza..and what is going on elsewhere… what is the US doing in afghan or iraq or elsewhere?

its nothing new then is it…….. people have always died in the horrors of war…over stupid things, over meaningful things… we should make dua for all innoccent people and all brotheres and sisters…people forget about the rest of the world”

I think that sums it up. The world is huge and a lot are dying. This is in our face so much through our ‘wonderful’ media that we can know what happens in every part of the world at just a few clicks on a keyboard. It’s overwhelming. We can’t, psychologically, handle that amount of information. It’s overload. Maybe that’s part of it. We’re overloaded with horror now. We’re overloaded with how cruel mankind can be to each other. Pray for each other. Pray we can come out of this with our humanity intact. Don’t loose your compassion and don’t stop being shocked by the photos and videos. When that happens it is a sad day for the world.

PLEASE sign the petition. I know it might seem like a waste of time. Some petition sites are only about ads and generating mailing lists or ad revenue. I don’t know about gopetition but it’s worth a try. Please sign the petition. InshaAllah it’s intention will be granted.
